During 12 years, his work and functions of researcher, then of director of cotton research in Cameroun, and finally of manager of the Regional Laboratory of Cotton Technology of the CIRAD in Chad lead him to be immersed in the sector, in contact with the producers, the ginners, the cotton companies and the textile industry. His activities gather in particular cotton breeding, variety testing and releasing, the development of the seed multiplication programs, the technical support to the cotton industrialists (relation between ginning practices and quality), programming and scientific animation, the quality measurement of fiber and seed quality, and training. In 1994, he joined the Laboratory of Cotton Technology of the CIRAD in France, as a technologist. The management of the structure is entrusted to him in 1997. He reinforces his experience, and works on the evaluation and the improvement of the fiber properties measuring methods, and on studying the relationship between fiber characteristics and yarn properties. He is in charge with the scientific animation, the relationships to the international scientific community, the management of the contracts and projects, and develops an international expertise in cotton ginning, which leads him to stays of short and average duration in many countries (the USA, Asia, Africa, South America). He studies the management of the cotton ginning systems at the University of Mississippi. In 1998, he joins the Société d’Ingénierie Cotonnière in France, of which he ensures the sales management. At the same time he is in charge with the management of the sales in French-speaking Africa for Continental Eagle Corporation, Prattville, Al, the USA, manufacturer of cotton industrial equipment. The industrial experience deepens thanks to the permanent contact with the ginning and delinting companies, and to the implication in engineering activities : in particular the technical design of ginning or delinting process and production facilities, the technical diagnosis of ginning and delinting plants, the technical and financial development of engineering, equipment and spare parts tenders.
